U16(Bantam Football)

The Ravens football club is a member club within the Capital District Minor Football Association(CDMFA) which is under the governing body Football Alberta.  The U16(formerly Bantam) team includes 13, 14 and 15 year old players who are not attending grade 10 in the calendar year and is open to all genders.  The CDMFA season runs from mid-August to mid-October and is followed by 3 weeks of league playoffs.  Your U16 team were the 2022 CDMFA Tier III U16 champions.  Congrats Ravens!!!

Our Ravens home field is at the field near Ecole McTavish known as TC field.  Both U16 and U13 teams practice at this field.  Practices are on weekdays in the evenings each week with league games on weekends.  Our home league games are held at Shell Place.  Spring Season will run from May 2nd to June 25th ending with a football jamboree in Leduc.  No games are played in spring season.  Fall season practices will begin early August.  Our schedule and play conforms to the policies of the CDMFA.

What is it like to be a Raven?  Football is an amazing team sport with a position for everyone!  Our amazing volunteer coaching staff will evaluate your child and determine the best position based on their ability and likes.  The Raven players build camaraderie through team practices and game play, viewing team film and of course, the long bus ride to and from Edmonton for road games!

Football is a contact sport and players will be evaluated for safe contact practices, ie safe tackling skills, prior to game play.  Our coaches adhere to Football Alberta minor football coaching requirements. At the U16 level, players will continue to learn football fundamentals, teamwork and sportsmanship, as they develop into young athletes.
